Case Study: Crafting the Digital Identity of Rruza — A Young and Creative Digital Agency

A Unique Entry in a Crowded Field

In a digital world with tons of agencies, Rruza isn’t your usual digital agency. Founded by six young friends, all under 20, the agency is a hotbed of creativity and innovation. They offer a wide range of services, from branding and graphic design to web/app development and even guerilla marketing.

The Challenge

The goal was simple yet challenging: design a website that reflects Rruza’s mix of professional skills and playful creativity. Imagine wanting to make a website where visitors feel like they’re stepping into an art studio, ready to be inspired.

Emotional Connection

It was about more than just a good-looking website; it was about making people feel something special when they visited. The website needed to show that Rruza is a young and creative team that’s fun to work with.

Research and Discovery

Given that Rruza is based in Kosovo but aims to attract clients from all over the world, I started by checking out both local and international agencies. This helped shape the structure of the website, focusing on key sections like ‘About Us,’ ‘Services,’ and ‘Portfolio.’Branding Elements and Style Guidelines

Logos, Mascots, and Beads — Oh My!

The brand already had strong elements to begin with — a well-crafted logo representing the letters Rr, a set of Cuphead inspired mascots called Beaders, and a colour palette centred around a calming, comic blue.

Each element was carefully picked to transmit the meaning behind Rruza, which translates to “Beads” in Albanian. The motto “Bead by Bead” subtly yet very precisly describes the meticulous approach to our projects, pointing our brands trust, loyalty, and step-by-step progress.

Design Process

Why conform when you can innovate? While brainstorming, we envisioned a website that combined modern trends with distinctive features. We eventually funnelled in on a newspaper-like format, with splashes of vibrant colours, creating a unique blend that the market has yet to see.

The Beads: A Unifying Element

The beads are not merely decorative; they symbolise the projects we’ve accomplished. Together, they form an innovative bracelet, reflecting the collective creativity and innovation that goes into each project.

Development and Implementation

The website is currently being developed using NextJs and will have some simple yet engaging animations. It’s exciting to think about how this creative design will soon be a fully-functioning website.

Conclusion and Lessons Learned

Designing Rruza’s website has been like painting on a vast canvas — fraught with challenges but overwhelmingly fulfilling. The experience underscored the importance of a cohesive brand narrative, thorough research, and, above all, the magic that happens when a young, creative team comes together to create something unique.
